Hacking Basics and Introduction Part-1

Hello Friends,
Before we Start with Hacking and Penetration we are supposed to be familiar with basics of two entities which are:
1. Computer Network and Security
2. Operating System Basics
Computer Network is the Basic theoretical knowledge about how does the Network Work, where Network are of 2 Types:

a. Intranet : An intranet is a private network that is contained within an Organization/Enterprise. It may consist of many interlinked local area networks and also use leased lines in the WAN(Wide Area Network).
Typically, an intranet includes connections through one or more gateway computers to the outside Internet. The main purpose of an intranet is to share company information and computing resources among employees. An intranet can also be used to facilitate working in groups and for teleconferences, Therefore Intranet is basically a smaller group of network where the users use the network to communicate amongst themselves in a private network.

b. Internet : The internet in simple terms is a network of the interlinked computer networking worldwide, which is accessible to the general public. These interconnected computers work by transmitting data through a special type of packet switching which is known as the IP or the internet protocol. Now the basic difference between Intranet is that Internet works on a Public Network, Where as Intranet is more of a private network.

PS: Internet is not same as WWW(World Wide Web), The internet and World Wide Web are both the networks yet; the internet is the network of the several different computers which are connected through the linkage of the accessories like the copper wires, the fiber optics and even the latest wireless connections. However, the World Wide Web consists of the interlinked collection of the information and documents which are taken as the resource by the general public. These are then linked by the website URLs and the hyperlinks. Therefore World Wide Web is one of the services offered by the whole complicated and huge network of the internet.
